Lia Amelune

“It has not been in the pursuit of pleasure that I have periled life and reputation and reason. It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing memories, from a sense of insupportable loneliness and a dread of some strange impending doom.”EDGAR ALLAN POE

Lia is ever preoccupied by the careful preservation of her outward presentation and physical beauty. An upright posture and carefully poised fingers tease the Lady's curated upbringing. Her fair skin is kept an almost sickly porcelain white, an utter contrast to the ebony gleam of her dark hair brushed with fragrant oils. Eyes of perfectly polished amethyst rarely remember to blink, frozen in an imperious gaze that project her indiscriminate disdain.Even the placement of her hands, typically laid palm-over-knuckle just beneath her navel, is wholly deliberate. So it should come as no surprise that those painted lips rarely lifted further than a subtle frown. The Lady seems to dress conservatively in public, though she is still keen to flaunt the pleasant silhouette cut by her figure. Opulent layers of expensive fabrics also conceal the physical signs left by years of service during the Dragonsong War.

Serpent. During her years spent with the Convictors, Lia was given the nickname Lady White Snake by some of her peers. It began as a belittling joke stemming from her status, prickly disposition, and fondness for the color white. Later, as a Knight Dragoon, the woman adopted the title in a more formal capacity. Her favorite method of killing prey was to strike at their throats with her poison-tipped lance, which she fondly referred to as Serpent's Fangs. Her armor was, of course, white as the midnight moon.Amelune. House Amelune is built upon the A'yue-Len bloodline and their enduring legacy of survival. Little of the old clan remains today except for Lia and the family she guides with her iron fist. They are well-known for (but not limited to) providing pure metals and quality salt harvested from the family's mine in Mor Dhona. The House's crest has always included a moon over a tower protected by a rose; since Lia's takeover as head of House Amelune, the tower has been removed. The rose is now a wisteria vine and intertwined with a white snake, mirroring one another as they climb a familiar spear to form a caduceus. The moon hangs lower than before, becoming a halo for the tip of the spear.Currently, Lia remains the head of House Amelune and continues gazing ahead into the future.Suitors. Lia's ageless beauty and social status continue to attract the interest of minor nobility, as well as the occasional knight. However, she has shown no interest in any particular individual and prefers to treat these letters and invitations as kindling. Instead, she prefers to keep companions who do not hail from Coerthan lands. She is, unknown to most of Ishgardian society, married to a Sea Wolf merchant pursued by rumors of piracy. Marriage has not prevented her from indulging in many lady lovers.Combat. Despite her outward appearance, Lia is actually very fond of the martial arts. She partakes in sparring and jousting when the opportunity arises.Botany. The noblewoman loves unique flora, which is apparent to anyone who's had a chance to tour her private gardens. More than a few species are products cultivated from her personal greenhouse laboratory, where she conducts experiments in her free time (mostly after retirement) in an effort to create more cold-resistant variants of plants she's seen elsewhere.Voice. Please refer to Carmilla (Castlevania) for a decent example of how Lia sounds and oft thinks.

Hello, and thanks for checking out Lia's profile! Most of my XIV pals call me Iron or Yein, and I live for lifting weights and eating noodles (not necessarily in that order). My default demeanor is somewhere between an NPR broadcast and a pillar of salt, but I'm generally pretty friendly despite the deadpan energy.A lot my time in XIV is spent raiding, so I don't get to roleplay as often as I'd like. When I do get a chance to enjoy RP, I'm open to most forms of it, including both light and heavy themes; all I ask is that we communicate clearly throughout. Also, no ERP.Some additional housekeeping ⸺

❧ I'm East Asian IRL and love incorporating the immigrant experience into character backstories. Most of my characters have been affected and shaped by some form of racism or xenophobia.❧ IC ≠ OOC! While I may draw inspiration from real-life social issues and experiences, my character is not a stand-in. I am NOT my character.❧ I'll not engage with bigots of any kind. OOC racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and other such -isms will not be tolerated.❧ I will not RP with anyone under 21.❧ Lia is an alt, and you will typically find me logged in on my main Iron Sparrow or, more rarely, another OC. I'm often tabbed out, but I try my best to return DMs.
